Hello Everyone! I’m Priya and I am The Wanderlust Hygienist! I love to travel and to see the beauty and culture that places have to offer. In addition to traveling, I enjoy reading, photography, volunteering and much more. I’m a Dental Hygienist that Graduated in 2020. I enjoy my job, because I like to help people, but like any job it has its difficulties. My Family originally wanted me to become a Dr. But I can’t deal with blood and guts. Blood in the mouth is ok, but anything more than that and I pass out! I originally wanted to be called the Wanderlust Turtle, because I love turtles, they are so majestic and free. But it seems like there’s another Wanderlust Turtle out there so Hygienist it is! Why Wanderlust Hygienist you may ask (or not that’s cool too), It’s because, every place I travel to, I always wonder if I could move there. I live in Illinois, and frequently want to be anywhere but here, when I come back from a trip, all I want to do is leave again. Maybe it’s because I need a change in scenery, or maybe it’s because I think that I can escape the anxiety, depression, PTSD and ease my Bipolar II disorder that plagues me by moving to a new area. Plus since I am a Hygienist It may be a little easier to find a job wherever I go.
Something I really love is a good deal, and traveling comfortably on a budget is something that’s my jam. Like most, I have my weaknesses, such as souvenirs, tote bags, cups, and a great deal. If anything, these things will dry up my funds real quick, but I’m working on that! I love finding ways to save money, and getting the most bang for my buck. We all live in times where things are expensive, and not all of us can drop money on an expensive vacation when we have bills to pay. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t travel in style! It’s important to be able to decompress and experience new things, especially since life can be crazy.
I am currently in school for my Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. I am hoping to be able to do more than clinical hygiene since it has been so hard on my body. But it’s hard to beat the flexibility and pay of being a dental hygienist.
